Equality Framework for Local Government LGA Peer Assessment of BHCC
Report seeking committee approval to delay the
EFLG peer assessment by one year. Currently due 2020 however in
light of development of Fair and Inclusive Action Plan (FIAP) more
prudent to give sufficient time for plan to be delivered and make
the changes necessary to improve the council's EFLG assessment.
Council assessed in 2011 as Excellent, in 2019 as Achieving. A 2019
self assessment by the council'd equality team suggests council
would retain Achieving in an assessment in 2020. Furthermore the
assessment would not provide new feedback or findings to guide the
action of the council above the recent feedback from GHPO and the
development of the FIAP.
