Emergency Planning and Resilience – Preventing and Responding to Emergencies

On 9th October 2017 a report on Emergency Planning and Resilience – Preventing and Responding to Emergencies was presented to the Neighbourhoods Inclusion and Equalities Committee.
The purpose of the report was to provide Members with an overview of the role and responsibilities of the local authority in relation to emergency planning and resilience and to report how the Council responds to incidents across the City and how it manages risk and maintains resilience.
The report also sought to address the issues brought forward by Members in the Notice of Motion referred from Full Council in relation to ‘Grenfell Tower’. The notice of motion had received cross party support. The Committee Report presented to Members on the 9th October 2017 addressed all the issues raised in the Notice of Motion.
The Committee agreed that because of the relevance to housing tenants that the committee report also be presented to the Housing and New Homes Committee.
