Stanmer Park Road Parking
We the undersigned petition Brighton & Hove Council to undertake a consultation in Stanmer Park Road for a parking scheme due to the ongoing negative impact on local residents to park near their homes due to the neighbouring parking zones.
Stanmer Park Road was severely impacted by the introduction of Zone J, Zone F, Fiveways and Zone G, Ditchling Gardens and Hollingbury Road in 2016 due it being the nearest road to Fiveways without resident permits (please see previous petition by Emma Rompani in August 2016).
Since the previous petition the parking conditions have deteriorated on Stanmer Park Road with car users from across the city parking their cars either to commute to work, to shop at Fiveways or park their mobile homes or second cars to avoid parking ticket costs.
The impact is that at any time of day or night residents struggle to park anywhere near their homes which particularly impacts on the elderly, those with mobility issue and those with young children. Cars frequently double park overnight causing obstruction to emergency vehicles.
Other roads (Hollingdean Terrace, Dudley and Roedale Road) are now petitioning for permits and I request that Stanmer Park Road is considered alongside these for a consultation of a parking scheme in the area.
