Council response
The Cabinet Member for Children & Young People gave the following response at the Cabinet meeting on 17 February 2011:
"Officers are in talks with schools to achieve the best outcomes for school sports provision. The government will be giving money to each secondary school to fund a PE teacher one day a week to work with each cluster of primary schools. Meetings have taken place with Brighton & Hove Football Club and the Cricket Club, who both work with schools and the wider community, and the council’s Sports Development workers will continue to provide support to sustain and enhance sports provision. The main aim is to better co-ordinate sports provision across the city."
