Herbert Road Parking

We the undersigned petition Brighton & Hove Council to include Herbert Road in the proposed residents parking scheme for Fiveways agreed at the Environment, Transport and Sustainability Committee on the 13th October 2015.

In the consultation process 75% Herbert Road voted in favour of the scheme. Herbert Road is very similar to the roads which the new reduced proposals cover. We are a terraced road with no off road parking. This is similar to Dover, Ashford, Sandgate, Hythe, Lowther and Osborne Road. Our parking issues are compounded by proximity to the Park View Pub, St Mary's Church and the North - East entrance to Preston Park where parking is restricted. Users of these facilities park in our road.
When the Fiveways parking scheme comes into force our road will be adjacent to this scheme to the East, while to the South we are adjacent to the parking scheme already in place that ends at Preston Drove. As the closest street to these schemes, the displacement problems we already face will be much worse.
