Eastb. A259/Longridge Ave
This is an accident waiting to happen. Currently there are two
lanes allowing straight-on traffic with the left lane also allowing
left turn left into Longridge Avenue. The problem is caused by two
lanes within 3 seconds of the the junction having to merge into a
single lane. This creates an immediate danger of undertaking
traffic (left lane) and potential collisions. By confining
straight-on traffic to the right hand lane at the junction (Traffic
lights) this imminent danger could be eliminated.
This would follow the example at the next junction A259/Telscombe
Cliffs Way and A259/Sutton Ave (Roundabout). Please refer to
Streetlife.com where the proposal has been heavily discussed and
well supported.
