Stop development on Saltdean green field site

We the undersigned petition Brighton & Hove Council to Prevent development on Saltdean urban fringe, green field site by Hyde developers. The proposed site lacks the necessary supporting infrastructure and backs out on to national park.

There are numerous reasons for this petition, not limited to following listed below:

> The site proposed is adjacent to national park and was designated an area of outstanding natural beauty

> Numerous bridal ways surround the area - the addition of up to 100 cars would be dangerous and likely to change this rural landscape, renowned for its wildlife

> The increased traffic would create bottlenecks throughout Saltdean as access is via small residential roads

> Services are currently at capacity: The primary school has already extended to 3 classes per year and is full, as are the doctors and dentists servicing the area

> There is a clear potential risk of increased flooding if the development goes ahead

> It sets a precedent to allow further development throughout the green fields surrounding Saltdean.

The petition will close on the 4th Janaury 2015 and then be submitted to the Planning Officer for refernece in their report to the Plannng Committee as part of its considerationof the planning applicaiton.

This ePetition ran from 07/08/2014 to 10/03/2015 and has now finished.
