RAF Residents Against Felling - Clyde Road

We the undersigned petition Brighton & Hove Council to stop the cutting down of the plane trees on Clyde Road, and consider pollarding and other means of saving these majestic trees.

Residents of Clyde Road, Brighton have received a letter saying that seven plane trees that line the street are to be replaced by more compact upright species during the season December 2010 and March 2011. We urge the council to reconsider this drastic stategy.

This ePetition ran from 05/02/2010 to 12/03/2010 and has now finished.

Council response

A response was given at the Environment Cabinet Member Meeting on 25 March 2010:

The council has listened to the views of residents and they have been informed that major pruning will take place instead of cutting down the trees.
